Children & Youth Programs
We provide safe spaces for children and youth to encounter God through community, scripture, and play. We invite young people to ask questions and think critically about their own faith throughout their spiritual education and journey, as they become Disciples of Jesus Christ.
Vacation Bible School
Our 2023 Vacation Bible School Theme is “Read, Set, Move! Following Jesus Here, There, and Everywhere.”
Kids 4 years old through those entering 5th grade will be invited to journey with the Apostle Paul as he follows where Jesus leads. Through games, crafts, music, and story time, the children will learn the joy of following Jesus.

Children’s Church
Sundays at 10:00 AM, August through May
We encourage children to be present and participate in worship. After the Unison Prayer, all children are invited forward to the chancel steps for a Children’s Sermon. After that, any children ages 3 years – 4th grade are welcome to exit the sanctuary for Children’s Church with adult teachers. They will learn about the day’s theme through games, activities, and stories for about 20 minutes. They then return to the sanctuary and their families for the close of worship. Outside of the sanctuary is a table with coloring pages for disciples of all ages to keep their hands busy during worship.

Confirmation
Confirmation is a 12-month program beginning in the spring of a student’s 8th grade year. The monthly meetings focus on the basics of Christian faith and practice. At the end of the program, the students should be able to articulate the faith and decide whether they want to publicly declare their faith and join the United Methodist Church. Participation in worship, meeting with a mentor, and volunteer hours inside and outside of the church are requirements in addition to the classes. For more information, contact Pastor Heather at pastor@jeffumc.com.
